This original handmade Oil Painting Close To The Water Surface is part of my underwater series of paintings.

I had the inspiration for this painting during my trip to La Palma (Canary Islands) where I was making selfie-videos with my GoPro underwater in a beautiful swimming pool, trying to capture this feeling of freedom and weightlessness that I was experiencing at that moment. The water and the sky are blue, the light is at its most beautiful moment and the sunlight is flooding the water, casting abstract lines on my body and bikini. This artwork definitely transports me back to this feeling of relaxation and cool refreshment on hot sunny day in La Palma.

To paint the two-colored bikini was a real challenge as it has a detailed pattern, also with the light and shadow on it. However it would make the painting even more interesting , that’s why I decided to keep it.

The size of the painting will give you a real feeling of immersion and invite you to jump into the pool on a sunny summer day,
